Leadership and outsized business outcomes are the result of upleveling your career with purpose, integrity and trust. Adams, they present their study with Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business of over 500,000 leaders. When leaders move from reactive leadership, where 70% of their behaviors are reactive (overwork, controlling, abdicating), to purpose-driven leadership where only 30% of their behaviors are reactive, their business performance (revenue growth, profitability, stock price) moves from the bottom decile to the top decile. |
Further they found that the relationship between purpose awareness and leadership effectiveness has a .93 correlation. They found that when your relationship to your purpose moves from declared purpose to higher purpose, leadership effectiveness moves from 10% below average to 15% above average, creating tangible increases in revenue, profitability and market share.

THE STAGES OF PURPOSE DEVELOPMENT
To realize business performance and leadership effectiveness, the first stop is purpose. In order to upgrade a leader's leadership style from reactive to servant, purpose must move from declared (Stage 2) to higher purpose (Stage 3). From this place a leader can bring all areas of her life into integrity with her purpose and establish trust within her communities.
